Javonta was born on May 13th 1992 in Cottageville, South Carolina as the youngest child of James I and Brenda Smith, with an older brother James Smith II and older sister Jessica Wade. Throughout his life, Javonta has always been a very goal-oriented, passionate, and dedicated individual who wouldn’t take no for an answer in his pursuit for success. Javonta graduated from Colleton County High School in Walterboro, South Carolina in 2010. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Ship’s Servicemen with tours onboard the USS Gettysburg homeported at Jacksonville, FL, and USS Antietam homeported in Yokosuka, Japan He even had a brief stint at the United States Naval Academy graduating from the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, RI in 2014. Despite a successful career, he ran into a dark place in his life suffering from substance abuse, depression, and PTSD which led to his attempted suicide in November of 2016. Ultimately this led to him being medically retired in July of 2018, after serving his country honorably for the last 8 years.

Present day, Javonta is a father of two boys Christopher and Cairo and is raising them with his girlfriend Marissa in San Diego, Ca. His selflessness and desire for helping others has always been a very adamant quality of his and has continued to lead him to other avenues in ways he can help others. His goal for Breaking Free Inc. is to provide a safe, healthy, and family-oriented safe haven for those who need a loving support system to help them through the tireless journey that is overcoming mental illness. “I’m blessed and humble by the second chance that I was given at life, and with that I’ll never take this life for granted again because I see how quickly it can all be over. I was at my lowest point when I decided that life wasn’t worth living anymore and I hung myself by a rope expecting to leave this world and a myriad of problems that at the time, I believed I could never rise above. I’m a living testimony to all those that’s at their lowest, all of the people that feel that they can’t go on, I’m here to say keep pushing forward no matter how slow, or how small as long as you keep going forward, Don’t Stop, Don’t Turn around just keep moving forward I promise it’s light at the end of the tunnel”.
